Mike Ponte was born on May 5th, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mike and his family moved to Nebraska in 1953. Mike graduated from High school in 1966. He attended Junior College and graduated in 1969. Mike was drafted to the United States Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam from January 1970 until March 1971. In March of 1971 he was discharged from the Army.
Mike started working for the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) in May of 1971 and worked there for just shy of 40 years. He retired from the IRS in January of 2011.
Mike is a member of the American Legion for 53 years, Sons of American Legion for 25 years, and he is a VFW Lifetime Member.
