Lance Corporal Tyler Quick was born in Lincoln NE and moved to Grand Island shortly after. He attended Grand Island Public Schools until his 6th grade year when he and his family moved to Shelton.
Tyler signed up for the Marine Corps in June 2018 and left for boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. Upon completion of boot camp, he left for MOS training at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri for #3531 Motor Transport. After MOS graduation, he was assigned his active-duty station with the 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group at Camp Foster Okinawa Japan. He was also assigned to the 3rd Landing Support Battalion at Camp Foster during the 3 years he spent in Okinawa.
His military decorations and medals include National Defense Service Medal, 3 Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Armed Forces Service Medal.
His active-duty military status ended June 2022 when he received his DD214. He now lives in Ravenna and works at New Horizons Orthotics and Prosthetics as an orthotic and prosthetic technician. He enjoys spending time with his family, his girlfriend and her son and his 2 dogs. He also enjoys golfing, fishing and hiking and has hopes of returning to Okinawa for a visit.
