Bob was born on a farm in 1925 in Eddyville, NE to Ray and Sophie Brown. He attended Eddyville Schools dropping out at the age of 17 in 1942 to join the Army during World War II. In the military he received his GED.
When he joined the Army, he had three brothers and three brother in-laws serving in the European Theater at that time, he was the only left at the farm with his parents. He was sent to the European Theater of operation till the completion of the war then he transferred to the Japanese Occupation Forces till the start of the Korean War. During the Korean War he served in Korea for three years upon completion of war he moved back to Grand Island, NE. He honorably served from 1942 to 1953 active-duty Army. His son’s both served in the Military, SSG Glen Brown- Army Ranger, Douglas Brown Command Master Chief- Retired-United States Navy, Son-n-Law Robert Mullally- US Army, Grand Children: Eric Mullally – United Staes Navy, Great Grand Children CPL Lenora Rodriquez- USMC and CPL Jaxon Brown – US Army
He returned to Nebraska and married Joyce Bowers in 1955 in Grand Island, NE. He worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition plant for many years as a truck driver, being a part of the Teamster Union during that period, he was very proud to be a Teamster Member and working for Jimmy Hoffa. Upon closing of the plant to drove truck over the road for various companies, becoming disabled in the 1970’s with heart disease, he was very popular and had lots of friends in the Grand Island Area.
Bob passed away May 19th, 1993. His Sons include Glen Brown-deceased 2016, Douglas (Terry) Brown-Grand Island, NE, and a Daughter- Lisa Mullally – Columbus, NE. As well as 9 – Grand Children.
