He was born in Omaha, NE on Dec. 15, 1928. Jim passed away July 27th, 2012.
He graduated from Creighton Prep High School in Omaha, NE. He was a member of legion baseball championship team – “Murphy did it” in 1944. He was also a part of the Omaha World Herald Honor Football Team in 1946. James went to college on football scholarship at Marquette University 1947
James Green Joined U.S. Army in 1952. He attended training at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation in Pennsylvania. He was assigned to the 50th Field Artillery Battalion, the 11th Infantry Regiment, and the 5th Infantry Division
Sent to Korean War in early 1953 from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington St. He was a Forward Artillery Observer across the enemy front lines.
After the war, worked for the Balbach Company out of Omaha selling welding equipment and supplies for the early missile-man silos in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Montana.
Moved to Grand Island in early 1070s. James lived in Hall County for 42 years. He owned Insurance & Personnel Services, which became Primark Insurance Agency, an independent agency in Grand Island.
Jim was married, had 3 children and 4 grand kids.
