Colin R. Elliott was born May 21st, 2001, and raised in Grand Island, NE. He is the youngest of three children; sister Elizabeth and brother Dalton. Born to Dean & Shawn Elliott. From a young age he was aware of the lineage of military service of his family as his father, uncle, and grandfather had all served in the U.S. Army. He was very patriotic and learned to salute the American Flag from a young age. Colin was very interested in everything about the military and would draw pictures of military vehicles, planes and war.
Growing up Colin was interested in any physical activity; riding his bike, swimming, playing baseball, playing football, running track, being involved in choir and band. Through high school, he continued to be very physically active in football, weightlifting, show choir, and shotput in track. He loved to have air-soft war games with many friends, at one point he even dug a fox hole in the backyard. He was not afraid of work, detasseling corn and working as a lifeguard during the summer months.
In Colin’s junior year of high school, he knew he wanted to enlist in the military instead of going to college after high school graduation. Colin enlisted in the U.S. Army delayed entry program and worked out frequently with the local Army Recruiters in Grand Island to learn everything he could and ensure he was in top physical shape. COVID was in full swing in May 2020 when he graduated high school and prepared to ship out to basic training. June 29, 2020, Colin started U.S. Army Infantry OSUT Basic Training at Fort Moore (Fort Benning), Georgia. After basic training he was stationed with the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson (Colorado Springs), Colorado. He spent lots of time lifting weights and ensuring he was physically fit for the next challenge.
He attended trainings at NTC in California, JRTC in Louisiana, Tunnel Warfare Training in Texas, and in the Spring of 2023 his unit was sent to South Korea on a military rotation. There he re-enlisted for an additional 5 years. When he returned from South Korea, he was selected to attend the US Army Airborne School and obtained his airborne wings in December 2023. He was then transferred and is currently stationed at Fort Liberty (Fort Bragg), North Carolina.
