Tim Bartz was born in Grand Island, NE on February 27th, 1971 to parents David Bartz & Kathy Schlachter. He attended high school at Grand Island Senior High, where he graduated in 1989. Preceding high school Tim enlisted into the United States Navy. Tim attended Boot Camp in San Diego, California and A school for Internal Communication Electrician. After boot camp he went to sub school in Groton, Connecticut. Tim served on the USS Whale …. SSN-638 a fast attack submarine. Tim served in the Navy from 1989-1993. In the 1990 Northern run they were aboard the ship for 7 months. On this run was when Tim got his fish (qualified in submarines).
In 1991, Tim was united in marriage to Lisa Kramer in Grand Island, Nebraska. Lisa joined Tim in Groton, Connecticut while he was at base. When he deployed sometimes, she stayed and sometimes she traveled back to Grand Island. In late 1991 till early 1992 he spent time in the Persian Gulf until they were replaced by the USS Dallas, USS Dallas was famous for torpedo strikes. In 1992 units joined military training with South American Navy’s. During his Unitas trip around South America he made it halfway around before he flew out of Bonis Aris, Chili to fly home to Grand Island, Nebraska for the birth of his first son Steven. After Steven’s birth Tim was honorably discharged from the Navy.
After Tim’s time in the service, he returned to Grand Island to work at Kramer’s with his wife, Lisa. Tim & Lisa purchased Kramer’s from Lisa’s parents. Now, Tim and Lisa run Kramer’s Auto Parts & Iron, as well as Kramer’s Wrecker Service. Tim & Lisa have 4 children, 1 daughter-in-law and 1 son-in-law: Steven (Laura) Bartz, Joseph Bartz, Caitlin Bartz, and Megan (Dalton) Wicht. They have 3 Grandchildren: Henry & Charlotte & one due this May. Tim holds the position of Quartermaster/Adjutant on the VFW Board, serves as a committee member for the Hall County Warriors Memorial, he also serves as a board member for the Hall County Hero Flight.
