Robert Charles Boehle was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on May 18, 1949. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1968. Robert Boehle was drafted into the United States Army and began active duty on April 22, 1969 when he reported for Basic training at Ft. Lewis, Washington. Upon completion of Boot Camp, Robert Boehle was sent to the Quang Tri Province located in the Northern part of South Vietnam in October of 1969. He served in the 101st Airborne (The Screaming Eagles) 2nd/17 Air calvary Infantry Division with the rank of Specialist 4.
While in Vietnam, Robert performed Recon duties involving repelling from and evacuation with helicopters. He patrolled various parts of Vietnam including the A Sau Valley, which was one of the key entry points into South Vietnam for men and materials brought along the Ho Chi Minh Trail by the North Vietnamese Army and was the scene of heavy fighting during the Vietnam War.

Robert returned from Vietnam in October of 1970, and served his remaining time in Ft. Riley, Kansas until Honorably discharged from active military service on April 21, 1971. Robert continues to be an active member of the American Legion Post 119 St Paul, NE and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1347 in Grand Island, NE.
Robert Boehle married Janice Jeffres on October 17th, 1970. They have two children: Teresa Watters and Jonathan Boehle. They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Robert is retired from UPS after 35 years, and currently resides in St. Paul, NE
